Why I Like Scottrade
For those that don't know I was a business major when I started school. I decided to switch majors when I discovered my three hour classes going fast due to snoozing. So I do have a little business background, even though I am a certified teacher for PE.
A friend of mine came to me and told me about some stock he found for a certain company here in Utah. The stock had been up to $.50 a share, but dropped to almost $.04 with this recession going on. Great thing is, this company just started production last week and he told me about them over 5 months ago. So I thought, I need to get into this.
This same friend of mine referred me to Scottrade because that's what he was using, and because if you get referred, or refer someone you get free trades (it's usually $7 per trade transaction). So I signed up, received 7 free trades, and was on my way.
Now, the reason I like Scottrade is because they don't bug you like other companies. One friend of mine was with etrade and every time he went a few days without a transaction they would call him and bug him about it. Scottrade called me to welcome me, and to offer me some advice on trading. That was it. I receive maybe one call every two weeks regarding FREE classes they are holding to help people learn about trading. It's great! Plus, the stocks my friend told me about went down to $.01 each, so I was able to buy 15,000 for only $150. I just need to sit on that and wait for the economy to go back up and I'll be good for life (and the company is now in production).
So if you are thinking of stock trading while stocks are at an all time low, go through Scottrade. Ask me and I'll refer you so you can get free trades. It's great, and easy to follow.
